Grant has 10 years’ experience within specialist recruitment, mostly at large corporate or growing recruitment businesses. He is highly skilled in delivering change and building recruitment protocols that push the boundaries of traditional recruiting.
Grant has significant knowledge of education recruitment. As Regional/Operations Director, Quality Teachers, at Capita Plc., Grant was responsible for setting up Capita’s new education recruitment business. Prior to this, at EduStaff, Grant worked with universities and large Academy trusts, as well as individual schools to help them develop long term talent attraction, acquisition and management plans.
With a strong passion for education, Grant is on the board of governors at an ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ South London School and is on the board of trustees for the charity TimeBanking UK.
Michael is a highly successful executive search and selection professional with more than 14 years' experience appointing to 1st tier roles for the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Michael specialised in headteacher appointments when he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is now considered to be a leading expert in this field - a combination of his substantial recruitment track record; a varied career in education on the ground (particularly a period as a Policy Adviser to the Cabinet Office) and his qualifications which include a PhD Ed, MSc, DipHRM and a BSc.
Jo is a highly experienced recruiter with over seven years' experience in public sector and education recruitment. She delivers and advises on senior appointments for maintained schools, academy groups, free schools and independent schools. Jo has sourced candidates for, and successfully appointed to, a variety of difficult to fill and high-profile roles across all sectors.
Her career in recruitment began at a national employment charity. She then went on to work for a leading search & selection business coordinating high-level central and local government recruitment projects.
Jo has a degree in French & Politics from the University of Leeds.
Emma gained her BA Honours degree in International Business from Southampton Solent University and holds a CIPD in Employment Law.
She comes from an HR background and has over 7 years recruitment experience working in HR divisions at Cancer Research UK, The British Council and the London Borough of Lambeth.
Emma joined TES Prime in 2012 as a Recruitment Campaign Manager and has since supported over 50 schools on leadership appointments and helps advise schools on their recruitment as well as guiding candidates through the process.
Having worked in recruitment for the Department of Health for a number of years, Rahma joined TES Prime as a Recruitment Campaign Manager in October 2013.
Rahma's work focuses on the delivery of our international and independent schools recruitment, and has also been involved in successfully appointing to roles within the maintained sector.
Rahma holds a BA Honours degree and MA in History from the University of Leicester.
Caroline completed her education in Media and has since worked in publishing for over 15 years, 11 of these years with the TES. Through a variety of roles Caroline has honed her communication and customer service skills to a very professional standard.
Her experience has been further enhanced whilst working on many successful recruitment projects including a number of Schools and Local Authorities.
Caroline joined the Interim Practice at TES Prime in 2013 and is focused on providing the highest quality service at a moment's notice. Her calm and efficient administration ensure the service operates smoothly, however urgent the need.
Victoria joined TES Prime in July 2014 as a researcher, having previously worked as a research analyst for an oil & gas executive search boutique.
She conducts research into school’s histories and backgrounds, while sourcing, selecting and qualifying potential candidates, to ensure that the best person for the role is found.
Victoria completed a History degree from Royal Holloway University of London; she has since has undertaken research related internships and projects in a variety of sectors.
A former teacher, Victoria has a wealth of knowledge of the education sector, encompassing maintained and independent schools, both in the UK and internationally.
Having taught in Mexico, New Zealand the UK and most recently China, Victoria joins TES Prime from a small educational recruitment consultancy.
Victoria holds an undergraduate degree in Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Glasgow and a graduate diploma in teaching from the University of Auckland. While in Beijing she studied Mandarin and traditional Chinese calligraphy.
Leadership Attraction & Advertising
Simon has been offering advice to schools and colleges for over 5 years and finds his motivation in helping institutions position their vacancies in the right places, to attract the best possible candidates. He received his BTEC qualification in Online Recruitment Advertising in 2012 when he started working with TES Global on our Times Higher Education publication. Simon has also worked with Primary schools helping them save time and money on recruiting teachers.
When he is not talking with schools Simon can be found listening to music or walking his dog. He is a keen clay pigeon shooter and supporter of Leicester City Football Club.
Simon has a degree in Business & Marketing from Coventry University.
Independent & International Schools
A journalist with more than 25 years’ experience, Andrew has launched numerous initiatives for a variety of publishers, including magazines, events and a trade association.
Through his own company, Andrew launched Funding for Independent Schools magazine in 2006, the Independent School Governor's Handbook in 2009, the Independent School Awards in 2010 and British International Schools magazine in 2012. He was a governor of a primary school for four years, where he was vice-chair of the governing body and chair of the finance committee.
Andrew is a fellow of the RSA and chairs the organising committee of a literary festival in Warwick.
Deborah Leek-Bailey OBE
Deborah Leek-Bailey OBE
An educationalist, head and journalist with almost 35 years’ experience in education, Deborah assists the Independent and International Schools’ Team to provide leadership search and selection, mentoring and governance consultancy.
Her successful career in teaching culminated in over 15 years as the Head of a successful co-educational day school. Drawing on this experience she has been an invaluable guide to many schools, assisting with detailed educational advice. She has worked as Vice President of the Independent Schools Association, as an Elected Member of the Independent Schools Council’s National Education Committee and was an Associate of the National College of School Leadership. More recently she has been engaged as an advisor to DfE on Independent sector engagement.
Deborah was awarded an OBE for services to education, is an Honorary Fellow of the RSA and Trustee of a national charity.
A UK and International head with over 30 years’ experience in education, Paul assists the Independent and International Schools’ Team to provide leadership search and selection.
After almost 14 years of headship, 8 years as Principal of the British School Al Khubairat where he gained accreditation with HMC, IAPS and COBIS, he returned to the UK as an official advisor on School Improvement policies in Wales. Over the last 2 years he has gained broad experience across a wide range of education including UK and international school headships, local authority and university sectors.

As a passionate head and teacher of English Literature for over 30 years, Sarah works as part of the Independent and International Schools’ Team to provide leadership search and selection and mentoring.
Having worked in both Girls’ and Boys’ schools she brings an in depth knowledge of single sex education. Through her time as an Inspector, working across the whole spectrum, she has a broad understanding of the educational and strategic challenges faced by schools; easily highlighting success. She was Chairman of the Woodard Heads’ Association and, outside of education, was elected Public Governor for the Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Foundation Trust.
After almost 20 years of Headship she recently took up the role of Non-Executive Director, Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust.
A head with over 30 years’ experience in education, Paul assists the Independent and International Schools’ Team to provide leadership search and selection and mentoring.
Paul recently stepped down after 25 years of headship, serving as Headmaster at Mount St Mary’s College and Loughborough Grammar. He started teaching at Marlborough College and Prior Park College before moving in to senior leadership roles. Being a keen sportsman he has been a strong proponent of a holistic approach to learning, driving academic performance with a distinct co-curricular programme.
